What is .... Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation involving the channeling of unconditional love through the practitioner’s hands into the client’s energetic and physical bodies; thus promoting healing. It’s literal meaning in Japanese is: “Rei” meaning "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and “Ki” meaning "life force energy" … and there you have it - "spiritually guided life force energy." Simple and divine at the same time! I would like you to know that besides being deeply relaxing, non-invasive and beneficial both to specific areas of pain and the overall well-being of the client; Reiki also works effectively and harmoniously in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques; assisting in the relief of side effects and promoting recovery. There is nothing required from the client except to lie down and receive the bliss.
Is this weird and wonderful technique only practiced by a select few gifted healers?
No! not at all –a relatively easy technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" or "ignition" given by a Reiki Master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life. I include complimentary Reiki Healing as part of my childrens and adults meditation groups, assisting you to spontaneously and harmoniously continue releasing pain and stale patterns until the next class. I do this because the more space you make in your energetic body by releasing old stuff the more room there is to bring in all the fabulous, warm, yummy new stuff you want, need and deserve in your life. I myself am a Hoy Fire/Usui/Karuna Master Teacher and my lineage is with William Lee Rand at the International Center for Reiki Training on the island of Maui in Hawaii, where I have studied. He has studied with both the Japanese line of Usui Reiki and the Hawaaian line (brought to the west by Mrs Takata). It is a very thorough and and effective method of teaching and practicing Reiki so if you choose to commence your Reiki journey with me, this is where your energy as a practitioner is being sourced from - both Reiki lines. Lineage is extremely important in Reiki as it imparts both power and integrity to your ability as a practitioner; even if you are only ‘practicing’ on yourself. Below is information about the three styles of Reiki I teach and practice.
Usui Reiki takes it's name from the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing - Dr. Mikao Usui and all Usui Reiki practitioners are able to trace their lineage directly back to him (he died in 1926). the Usui system of Reiki is more than the use of the Reiki energy. It must also include an active commitment to improve oneself.

This is a new form of Reiki being introduced by the International Center for Reiki Training. It is both powerful and gentle and provides purification, healing, empowerment and guidance. It is included as part of the Usui Reiki classes and Karuna Reiki training.

Karuna is a Sanskrit word and is used in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is translanted to mean any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others and could also be translated as "compassionate action." In the same way that you would want to heal your own wounds, you would also want the wounds of others to heal. Learn more about Karuna Reiki
